The BS6 Hero Maestro Edge 125 and Destini 125 are about Rs 8,000 and Rs 7,000 dearer over their BS4 spec models respectively. The scooters also gain fuel injection system.
Hero has launched the BS6 compliant Maestro Edge 125 and the Destini 125. The BS6 Hero Maestro Edge is now available in three variants and its price are as follows – Rs 67,950 (alloy wheel with drum brake), Rs 70,150 (alloy wheel with disc brake) and Rs. 70,650 (alloy wheel with disc brake and a unique colour option). As for the BS6 Hero Destini 125, its available in two variants – Rs 64,310 (LX variant) and Rs 66,800 (VX).
With the BS6 update, the Hero Maestro Edge 125 has now got about Rs 8000 dearer over its BS4 predecessor. The BS6 Hero Destini 125 has also got expensive by about Rs. 7000 over the BS4 spec model. The base LX variant of the Destini 125 is also now the most affordable 125cc BS6 scooter you can buy in the country.
Both the Maestro Edge 125 and the Destini 125 are powered by the same engine. The new BS6-compliant version makes 9hp at 7,000rpm and 10.4Nm at 5,500rpm from the 125cc, fuel-injected engine. The numbers remain identical for both the scooters. The scooters also gain fuel-injection system over their carburetted BS4 models. In fact, the BS6 Destini 125 now makes more power than before. In BS4 spec, the Destini 125 made 8.8hp at 6,750rpm and 10.2Nm at 5,000rpm. Hero is also claiming that the BS6 version is 11 percent more fuel-efficient.
In terms of styling, there’s nothing much that has changed on these two scooters with the BS6 update. The Maestro Edge 125 however gets a unique new iridescent colour scheme as an option. In terms of features, the BS6 Maestro Edge 125 features an external fuel-filler cap and a digi-analogue instrumentation cluster, as well as side-stand and service indicators. Other features include the addition of Hero’s start-stop technology (Hero i3S) and an underseat USB. All this has been carried on unchanged.

The BS6 Destini 125 also gets the start-stop tech and digi-analogue instrument cluster. However the base LX variant misses out on dual-texture seats, alloy wheels and chrome garnishes on the apron. Features like a mobile charger and a boot lamp are standard on the VX, while it’s optional on the base LX variant.

While the BS6 Hero Destini 125 may be the most affordable 125cc scooter in the segment, the base variant of the BS6 Maestro Edge 125 is actually more expensive than all of its rivals. The base version of the BS6 Hero Maestro Edge 125 has been priced at Rs 67,950 and its competitors are priced as follows – TVS Ntorq 125 (Rs 65,975), Suzuki Access 125 (Rs 64,800), Yamaha Ray ZR 125 (66,730) and the Honda Activa 125 (Rs 67,490).
