Hyundai dealerships have now commenced unofficial bookings for BS6 Venue. The updated SUV is expected to be launched this month itself.

Hyundai has launched the BS6 compliant Santro, Grand i10, Nios and Elite i20. Now, Hyundai has commenced the unofficial bookings for the BS6 Venue. The booking amount has been set for Rs 10,000 by dealerships.

Reports suggest that bookings have commenced only for the petrol and turbo petrol variants. Hyundai is going to discontinue the 1.4 Litre diesel engine from its lineup and replace it with a new engine. This engine comes on Venue and Elite i20.

Currently, it gets a 1.2 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine, that produces 83 BHP and 115 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes on the base-spec variants. There’s also the 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 120 BHP and 172 Nm of peak torque.

Most likely, the BS6 Hyundai Venue and the new-generation i20 will sport a 1.5 Litre diesel engine. This engine now comes on the Seltos but will soon come with the new-gen Creta and Verna as well. For Venue, the power figures will be detuned, to around 100 BHP.

Hyundai Venue is amongst the best selling SUVs in the Indian market. It recently won the Indian Car Of The Year (ICOTY) awards as well. It was the last compact SUV to enter the market but has still managed to generate class-leading sales.

Venue is loaded with premium features like electric sunroof, cruise control, touchscreen infotainment with the Blue Link technology, rear AC vents, air purifier, LED projector headlamps, height-adjustable driver seat and much more.

With BS6 engines incoming, the prices of Hyundai Venue Petrol and Turbo-petrol variants will increase by atleast Rs 20,000. We are not sure when the BS6 diesel engine will arrive, but should not be very far from this date.
