Maruti has launched the BS6 Vitara Brezza with a new petrol engine. Its diesel engine has been discontinued making Brezza a petrol-only SUV. Its bookings have commenced and the SUV has already started reaching dealerships.

Just a week back, Hyundai also launched the BS6 Venue with its existing petrol and turbo petrol engines but a new diesel motor. Bookings for that have also commenced across all dealerships.

Venue gets two engine options, including a 1.2 Litre petrol and a 1.0 Litre turbo petrol. The petrol engine is available only on two variants – E and S. So, if we compare the Brezza Petrol with the Venue Turbo Petrol, the latter comes in costlier. However, if compared with the regular petrol engine, in the price of the base variant of Brezza, you can opt for the second in line variant of Venue.

Brezza petrol gets an in-house developed 1.5 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine. It produces 104 BHP and 138 Nm of peak torque. Also, this engine gets Suzuki’s SHVS mild-hybrid system now.

In case of Venue, there are two petrol engines offered. The 1.2 Litre four-cylinder petrol motor also comes on i20, i10 Nios and Aura. It produces 83 BHP and 113 Nm of peak torque. The 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo petrol produces 118 BHP and 172 Nm of peak torque.

In case of Venue, its BS6 petrol and turbo petrol variants are facing a waiting period of just 2-3 days. The bookings are ongoing since the past week. For BS6 Venue diesel, the dealerships are yet to receive the units and have suggested that deliveries will commence by the second week of next month.
