Tata has unveiled the BS6 Hexa Safari Edition at the Auto Expo 2020 with some changes to the exterior, interior and an updated engine.
Tata Motors’ Pavillion at the Auto Expo 2020 was a big hit. They bought back the Sierra in a concept, showcased the Gravitas and Altroz EV as well. On the showcase, there was also the BS6 Tata Hexa Safari Edition in a slightly new avatar.
Changes on the BS6 Tata Hexa Safari are minor, mostly cosmetic upgrades. Tata has showcased it a near-production ready model and will launch it sometime towards the end of this year. The engine will receive major upgrades to be BS6 compliance.
The Hexa Safari Edition gets blacked-out 17-inch alloy wheels, the existing Camo-type paint job, more beefed up/stronger front and rear bumpers and the Safari Edition over the body. Inside the cabin, there’s just the new dual-tone black and beige colour.

Hexa got a lot of chrome elements, which have now been blacked out. Further, there is the Safari Edition badging on the outside as well as inside the cabin. Another big change is the new BS6 compliant engine under the hood of Tata Hexa Safari Edition.
It will continue with its 2.2 Litre Varicor turbo-diesel engine. The motor produces 154 PS and 400 Nm of peak torque and might continue to produce the same figures. It will come with its standard Rear-Wheel Drive option with the 4X4 system on the high-end variants.
Tata will offer a 6-speed manual gearbox as well as a 6-speed automatic with the BS6 Hexa. The 4X4 variants will only come with a 6-speed MT as standard. All of the existing specifications and features will further continue with the MPV.

Currently, the Hexa is priced starting at Rs 13.70 Lakhs going up to Rs 19.27 Lakhs (ex-showroom). That makes Hexa the flagship car from Tata, coming in costlier even than Harrier. Soon, Tata is going to launch the Gravitas, which is a 7-seater version of Harrier.
