BS6 Hyundai Grand i10 is Finally Here for a Starting Price of Rs 5.87 lakh

Hyundai will be selling the Grand i10 alongside the Nios in the BS6 era, with its price now starting from Rs 5.87 lakh. It will be available in only two trims and Hyundai has also discontinued the CNG variants of the Grand i10.

With less than 10 days left for the BS6 deadline, Hyundai has finally launched the BS6 compliant version of the Grand i10. The BS6 Hyundai Grand i10 now has a starting price of Rs 5.87 lakh and it goes up to Rs 6.0 lakh. It’s will only be available in two variants – Magna and Sportz. Hyundai has even dropped the CNG variant from the lineup and the BS6 Grand i10 will now be sold as a petrol-only model.

Here’s a variant-wise price break up of the BS6 Hyundai Grand i10 :

Interestingly, while the price of the base Magna variant has gone up by about Rs 8,000, the Sportz variant sees a significant drop in price by rs 17,000. The sole engine option on the Grand i10 is now a BS6 compliant 1.2L Kappa petrol engine that develops 83bhp and 113Nm of peak torque. The output figures remain identical to the BS4 spec model. The engine can be had only with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

However, Hyundai will no longer be offering the CNG fuel option on the Grand i10. The CNG variants of the Grand i10 used the same 1.2L engine to develop 66bhp and 98Nm of peak torque. Just like the petrol variant, it could only be had with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It remains to be seen if Hyundai re-introduces the CNG variants on the BS6 Grand i10 in the future. In fact, there are talks that Hyundai might even introduce a CNG variant of the Grand i10 Nios as well.

Hyundai will thus continue to sell the Grand i10 alongside the Grand i10 Nios in the the BS6 era. In fact, the BS6 Grand i10 still makes for a very good buy as its available at a very attractive price point and its equipped with a very nice engine-gearbox combination as well. It also comes pretty decently equipped on the Sportz trim. The BS6 Hyundai Grand i10 competes with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, the Ford Figo and also its own sibling, the Grand i10 Nios.
