Features And Specifications Of 2020 Hyundai Verna Base S And S+ Variant

Hyundai has launched the 2020 Verna with prices starting at Rs 9.30 Lakhs. The bookings have commenced at their official website.

Hyundai has silently launched the 2020 Verna facelift in India. The complete variant wise prices of the updated sedan have been revealed and the bookings for that are also ongoing. Our sources suggest that the deliveries could begin directly in May.

Here is a walkaround video of the 2020 Hyundai Verna base S variant, explaining its features and exterior. To be noted, the petrol trims start with the S variant whereas the diesel trims start with the S+ variant. There’s absolutely no difference between them.

The S and S+ Variant get halogen headlamps, glossy black front grille, wheel covers, electric adjustment for ORVMs and 15-inch steel wheels on the outside. The top-end variants will get 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels as standard. Also, the colour options will be the same for the petrol and diesel engines, but different for the turbo variant.

Inside the cabin, there is dual-tone black-beige treatment, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system without Blue Link but with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering mounted audio controls, sliding front armrest, manual AC, analogue instrument console and two USB ports.

Safety features on the base S and S+ variant include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with a rear parking camera, speed alert system and front seat belt reminder. The base variant getting touchscreen infotainment and rear camera will draw great attraction from buyers.

The top-end SX(O) variant will get Blue Link technology, cruise control, ventilated seats, digital instrument cluster, electric sunroof, rear AC vents, LED projector headlamps, a rear-seat armrest, six airbags, rear disc brakes and much more.

The base S variant comes with a 1.5 litre petrol engine, producing 115 PS and 144 Nm. The S+ trim gets a 1.5 Litre diesel engine, producing 115 PS and 250 Nm of torque. The top-spec SX(O) variant gets a 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The turbo-charged unit produces 120 PS and 172 Nm of peak torque.

Gearbox options include a 6-speed MT and a CVT for petrol, a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT for diesel and a 7-speed DCT for the turbo petrol. All the engines will be BS6 compliant from the launch itself. The mileage figures will also be out shortly.

2020 Hyundai Verna will face tougher competition as Honda is set to give a generation upgrade to the City. Volkswagen and Skoda will be bringing in their powerful BS6 petrol engines as well. Ciaz, on the other hand, is the most fuel-efficient in the segment.
