Here’s How Maruti Ertiga Rivalling Tata MPV Could Look Like – Rendering

Here’s a digital rendering of Tata’s budget MPV that if launched, will go against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. As of now, there are no plans for that.

Maruti Ertiga is the most popular MPV in the country and also one of the most affordable ones. Priced from around Rs 7.59 Lakhs up to Rs 10.13 Lakhs (ex-showroom). There’s Renault Triber even more affordable, but it is a sub-4-metre car.

Hyundai and Kia are planning to take on the likes of Maruti Ertiga in the coming years. Hyundai is currently under the development stage of an MPV that will be priced in 10-15 Lakhs range. Along with these two brands, even MG is planning to bring the 360M.

However, Ertiga is the sole runner in its segment and runs a monopoly. Whenever it comes to a 7-seater car, a lot of buyers lean towards Ertiga. Despite having just a petrol engine, it is a preferred choice. The two reasons are the Maruti trust and low cost maintenance.

Here’s a digital rendering if Tata made a budget MPV to rival Ertiga. Tata seems to be advancing swiftly in every segment and it would not be long enough before Tata makes a move here as well. This Tata MPV is inspired by the latest design seen on recently launched cars.

This MPV looks like a fusion of Altroz and Harrier. The front portion seems to be taken from both Altroz and Harrier. There’s the Humanity line front grille, sleek LED DRLs, headlamps fused in the front bumper and an angular bonnet.

From the side, the lines are similar to what we have seen on the Altroz. It also gets its alloy wheels from the hatchback. These specific design elements are recently seen on all facelifted Tata cars and will also be seen on the upcoming cars.

The new MPV will be based on the ALFA platform which currently is used with Altroz. Many upcoming SUVs, sedans, hatchbacks and electric vehicles will use this platform. If Tata plans to bring an MPV, it will be the 8-12 Lakhs range. It would borrow its petrol and diesel engines from Nexon, along with the same transmission options.
