Here’s A TVS Apache RTR 160 Modified Into A Modern Scrambler

This is a neo-modern scrambler that actually is a modified TVS Apache RTR 160. Here are all the details you need to know about it.

Scramblers are motorcycles that carry on their old-school design with modern technology and the ability to go off-roading. In India, we have a couple of scramblers but all are costly. There’s Ducati Scrambler, Triumph Street Scrambler and the Benelli Leoncino 500.

However, all these motorcycles are costly with Ducati and Triumph bikes costing more than 6 Lakhs. Benelli is the cheapest of the three, but still just under Rs 5 Lakhs. Here’s an option that you can think as it will cost you just around a Lakh.

Brilliant Custom Motorcycle, from Indonesia, has built this low-cost Scrambler motorcycle. What’s great is that is built on a 2008 TVS Apache RTR 160. The total cost of this modification has come out to 3 Million Indonesian Rupiah or INR 15,000.

By any chance, this does not look like a TVS Apache. The styling has been completely revised and BCM has left no stone unturned. Starting off, it gets a BCM-custom swingarm and special U-shaped components for the Scrambler look.

Further, it gets raised handlebar, new headlamp design, a new fuel tank styling, premium USD forks, better braking setup, aftermarket grips and performance exhaust muffler. It gets a smaller seat that is usually seen on touring motorcycles.

Then, there’s Shinko Trail Master-E dual-sport tyres with wire-spoke wheels. These tyres are chunky enough to add up on the weight of the motorcycle. This modified Apache Scrambler gets all the strippings done for the perfect look. At the front and back, you have very small fenders.

All this modifications just for Rs 15,000 sounds like a very affordable affair. The engine has been kept in stock condition, which is a 159.7cc air-cooled unit. The motor produces 14.6 BHP and comes mated to a 5-speed MT as standard.
