2021 Hyundai Elantra (Avante) has been launched in South Korea. It is a new generation model with a completely new design language and more features.
Hyundai has now launched the 2021 Elantra a.k.a Avante in the South Korean market. The new generation sedan received more than 10,500 pre-orders on the first day itself. From 25th March to 8th April, it received a total of 16500 pre-orders.
The Elantra is priced at Rs 15.31 KRW to 23.92 KRW in South Korea. When converted it to Indian Rupees, the sedan is priced from 9.59 Lakhs to 14.99 Lakhs (ex-showroom). That is so much cheaper than the Elantra we have and even cheaper than the recently launched Verna.
In South Korea, the 2021 Hyundai Elantra (Avante) is available in four trims – Style, Smart, Modern and Inspiration. The new generation sedan gets a sharper look with ultra-modern fits and finishes. Also, it now looks more aggressive than the earlier version.

There, the Elantra is available in two engine options – petrol and LPG. Both are 1.6 Litre units with the petrol engine producing 123 PS of power and 153.96 Nm of peak torque and the petrol-LPG unit producing 120 PS and 152 Nm of torque.
The petrol engine comes with the options of a 6-speed MT and a CVT. The Petrol-LPG combo gets a 6-speed AT. The new Elantra is bigger than the previous generation. Now it is 4.65 metres long, 1.83 metres wide and 1.42 metres tall. It is 30 mm longer, 25 mm wider and 20 mm shorter.
New features onboard include LED headlamps, 10.25-inch digital cluster, 10.25 inch touchscreen instrument console with Blue Link technology, mood lighting, ventilated front seats, electric adjustment for front seats, rear seat heating, 8-speaker Bose sound system and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Safety features include Lane Keeping Assist, High Beam Assist, Front Collision Warning, Blind-Spot monitor, Smart Cruise Control, Highway Driving Assist, front and rear parking sensors and much more.

Hyundai is expected to launch the new generation Elantra in India by the second half of 2021. As of now, Elantra is the amongst the only two sedans in its class, including Honda Civic. Earlier rivals like Toyota Corolla Altis and Skoda Octavia have been discontinued.
