Hyundai Creta 7-seater has been spied testing again but from the back. The spy shots indicate that the rear portion will get a completely new look.
By now, there are many reports suggesting that Hyundai is actually considering a 7-seater version of Creta. An MPV is also in mind, which will go in the 9 Lakhs to 13 Lakhs range. The 7-seater of its popular SUV will cater to a segment above.
The 7-seater Hyundai Creta has been spotted testing in South Korea. It is based on the new generation Creta that has been recently launched in India. The platform will remain the same but the dimensions will be slightly revised in terms of length, height as well as width.
The spy shots importantly show that there will be some structural changes as well. We can see the rear three-quarters of the SUV in this shot. The shape of the rear portion has been completely changed and now it gets a boxy and more conventional design.

The 7-seater also gets completely new and simpler tail lamp design. It now looks more upright and a bit taller as well. Also, it will have a flat roof completing its SUV-turned MPV look. Probably, the 7-seater Hyundai Creta might get some inspiration from the Palisade.
From the front, the styling might be similar to the new-gen Creta. We have two examples of this scenario now. Tata’s 5-seater SUV is Harrier but its 7-seater version will be called Gravitas. On the other hand, the CRV comes with the option of a 5-seater and a 7-seater. We are likely to see the latter scenario with the Creta as well.
Under the hood, the 7-seater will mostly get the same engines that come on the new Creta. That will include the 1.5 Litre petrol and diesel engines along with the 1.4 Litre turbo petrol option. The transmission options might also remain the same.

Once the three-row Creta comes to India, it will rival with the likes of MG Hector Plus, Toyota Innova Crysta and Tata Gravitas. There’s going to be stiff competition, especially with the 7-seater version coming at an expected price of around Rs 20 Lakhs. However, we won’t be seeing it anytime before 2021.
