Tata Nexon and its 5-star safety rating are well known over the country. Here’s another example of its accident that involved falling off a cliff.
Since Tata received the 5-star safety rating in the NCAP crash tests for Nexon, things have changed a lot. People have started noticing and observing more about the safety rating. It was the first car from India to secure a 5-star rating, then followed by Altroz and XUV 300.
Here’s another accident that shows that Tata Nexon’s safety rating. In this case, the Nexon fell off the cliff in to a 20-feet ditch. The owner Surinder Shan, a resident of Jammu, was driving his car when he suddenly lost control, due to unknown reasons.
Despite falling from a cliff, the A-Pillar and B-Pillars remain to be unscathed. The car does not seem to have crushed although, the roof will be dented. The rear windscreen has been shattered and there has been some damage to the boot itself. Thankfully, the doors are in almost proper place which allowed the safe passage of the driver.

The rest of the car seems to have gone away with just some dents. We do not know the exact reason for this accident because there is no information if there is any other vehicle involved in front. Possibly, it could be also be the fault of driver.
Amongst the top 10 safest cars we have in India, XUV 300 is the first followed by Tata Altroz and then Nexon. With four-star safety rating, we have Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Tiago, Tigor, Mahindra Marazzo and Volkswagen Polo. Three stars is achieved by Hyundai i20 and Maruti Ertiga.
Nexon received a mild facelift this year which gave it refreshed styling, new features and BS6 compliant engines. It continues with its same 1.2 Litre three-cylinder turbo petrol and 1.5 Litre four-cylinder diesel engine. The turbo engine produces 120 PS and 170 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine produces 110 PS and 250 Nm of torque.

With the facelift, Nexon has gained features like Connected Car Technology, electric sunroof, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, flat-bottom steering wheel and cruise control. Now, there’s the Nexon EV also on offer.
