This Second Gen Suzuki Jimny Is Crossing Roads Through Pedestrian Overpass – Video

Suzuki Jimny is an affordable and capable small off-roader. Its capability can be seen in this video where it goes concrete off-roading.

Suzuki is finally bringing the Jimny to India, most likely by early 2021. Jimny is basically the European version of Gypsy. Currently, in its fourth generation, it is loaded with technology, styled with the latest design language but carries the simplicity like usual.

Suzuki Jimny or Gypsy is known for hardcore off-roading all around the world. You can see many videos finding all the generations going through muddy roads and rocky terrains. Here’s a video of Jimny doing a different type of off-roading.

So, this event happened in South China where the man used a pedestrian overpass to cross roads. He was on a motorway and missed on the U-Turn. He then decided to take the Jimny for off-roading on the pedestrian overpass.

As you can see, because of its compact dimensions, the Jimny fits perfectly in the overpass. The height of the steps is not that small, just about average. Later, the driver was caught by police as soon as he was coming down the overpass.

This is the third generation Jimny in question, which was launched in 1998. For two years, the same Jimny was sold until Suzuki introduced the new version in 2019. Globally, the SUV has been in production for nearly 50 years now. In India, the Gypsy was introduced back in 1985 and was discontinued in March 2019, nearly serving 34 years.

The fourth-generation off-roader gets a 1.5 Litre four-cylinder K15B petrol engine. The unit is capable of producing 104 BHP and 138 Nm of peak torque, being mated to a 5-speed MT and a 4-speed AT. The engine will also get Suzuki’s SHVS mild-hybrid system.

While the global-spec Jimny gets low-range transfer case gearbox, Part-Time 4WD and a couple of more off-roading bits, we won’t get them in the Indian version. This will help Maruti Suzuki in keeping the pricing in control, which is likelju to start off at Rs 8 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
