A man in Coimbatore stole a Hero Splendor amidst lockdown and took it 250 kms away to his village. Later, he couriered the bike back to its owner.
The four phases of Lockdown have created a lot of trouble for migrants. We can daily see videos of migrants walking or cycling back to their villages from metro cities, travelling more than 500 kilometres away. Some are paying exorbitant amounts to go home by flight or by trucks and are later testing positive for coronavirus too.
However, this man did something different which is unheard. This worker was stuck in Coimbatore and could not gome home to his village. So, he saw a bike parked outside a shop with keys on ignition. He decided to steal it and head out to his village. This is completely wrong but the man desperately wanted to go home.

Later, when the owner came out, he found his bike missing. After going to the nearest police station, he was shooed away because the police was busy. After searching for CCVT footage of that area, he found out his bike was stolen. He got the details of the thief and found out he lived on the outskirts of Coimbatore.
After reaching his home, his neighbours informed that the guy left for his village 250 kilometres away. Till that time, the news became viral and reached the ears of the thief. Then he got scared and decided to return the motorcycle to the owner itself. He found the RC papers in the bike and got the proper address of the owner.
After some weeks, the owner got a call from a courier agency that his bike will be delivered shortly. Turns out the thief couriered the stolen Hero Splendor back to the owner to be safe. The owner also decided he did not want to take any action against the thief as it was a desperate time and he also got his bike back.

There are a couple of such incidents reported across the country where people stranded have resorted to stealing money or goods. With the stolen goods, they can sell it for some money and head out to their native places. Due to high unemployment rate and no money left at their disposal, migrants are truly suffering the wrath of coronavirus.
