Hector Plus will come as a 6-seater as well as a 7-seater SUV, the latter mostly launching first. That also means that it will be marginally bigger than the Hector. Except for the seating arrangement, the rest of all the specifications will remain the same as seen on Hector. It will continue with the same engines and gearbox options as well.
Hector Plus will get a 2.0 Litre turbodiesel engine along with the 1.5 Litre turbo-petrol engine in two versions. The second option with the petrol unit will be a mild-hybrid unit which will offer more fuel efficiency. The engine, in both the versions, will produce 143 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine will produce 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque.
The diesel and petrol-hybrid will come paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. The petrol engine is the only one which will get a 6-speed MT and a 7-speed DCT. There are reports suggesting that MG is working on a diesel-DCT combination but it will not be launched anytime soon.
