The Audi RS7 is essentially an A7 on steroids. And boy, does it go! The biggest takeaway from the RS7 apart from its manic performance would be its looks. The RS7 has a stunning silhouette and detailing on the car is simply astounding. The face looks immensely sporty with huge triangular air intakes and blacked-out treatment for the grille, the front splitter and the air intakes. The grille also has an RS-specific honeycomb finish and the car sits lower than the standard A7, and has wider tracks at the front and rear.

In typical Audi fashion, the side profile is rather simple but the 21-inch wheel really stand out. There are also 22-inch wheels available as an option. The dance of the LED Matrix headlamps and tail lamps when you lock or unlock the car is also really cool to watch. At the rear, the sporty bumper with dual oval exhaust tips – a signature RS touch – look great too. There’s also an electronically-operated spoiler that pops up at speeds over 100kph.

Under the hood, the Audi RS7 Sportback is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that produces 600hp of power and 800Nm of peak torque. In comparison to the previous-gen RS7 which produced 605hp, peak power is down by 5hp but peak torque has increased by 50Nm. The engine also comes mated to a 48V mild-hybrid system for torque boost. The RS7 can sprint from 0-100 kph in just 3.6 seconds and it will go on to a electronically limited top-speed of 250kph. If you opt for the Dynamic package, then top-speed goes up to 280 kph and the Dynamic Plus takes that further up to 305kph.

The engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and power is sent to all four wheels via Audi’s Quattro All-Wheel drive system. However, unlike the BMW M8 or the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4 door Coupe, the RS7 does not have switchable AWD system. The RS7 Sportback also features cylinder-deactivation tech and RS-specific adaptive air suspension as standard while you can additionally get carbon-ceramic brakes, all-wheel steering and a heads-up display as optional extras.

The dashboard is dominated by the dual Audi’s twin-screen central console. However, this being an RS car, both the central console screens and the virtual cockpit instrument cluster use an RS-specific user interface. The RS7 also gets RS sports seats with adequate side bolstering and lots of Alcantara trim as well. In terms of other equipment, it’s loaded with all the goodies you could ever want.
