Reports suggest that Honda is actually considering bringing the City RS for the Indian market. The new City will be launched on 15th July.
Honda is going to launch the new fifth-generation City next week. It was first revealed for the Thai Market, where it comes in two versions. One is the regular version and the other being the RS edition. Reports suggest that even we might get the RS edition in India soon, probably sometime after the launch.
In the Thai market, the City only comes with a 1.0 Litre turbo petrol engine. In India, we get the same 1.5 Litre petrol and diesel engines. The RS edition is basically cosmetic upgrades for the Thai market but for us, it might also give us the 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine.

The turbo unit produces 122 PS and 173 Nm of peak torque, paired with a CVT gearbox as standard. The power figure is the same as seen on 1.5 Litre i-VTEC engine but the torque is nearly 40 Nm more. Seeing the trend of turbo engines in small cars, all manufacturers are considering working on one such sporty engine.
That still remains to be confirmed if we will get the RS edition with new engine or just the cosmetic upgrades. To differentiate, it gets all-black interiors with leather seats, different alloy wheels, exclusive Fire Red colour, a rear spoiler, faux diffusers on a refreshed rear bumper, revised front bumper and the RS badging over the body.
Features onboard will be the same as seen on the top-spec City. Even the RS edition will be a single variant and based on the top end variant. Inside the cabin, you get aluminium pedals and red accents over the centre console and AC knobs. Safety will be taken care by six airbags, ABS with EBD, Traction control, VSA and possibly, rear disc brakes too.
