Hyundai Venue is the first SUV in India to get a clutchless manual iMT gearbox which will come with its 1.0 Litre turbo petrol engine.
Hyundai has launched the iMT gearbox for Venue sub compact SUV, starting at Rs 10 Lakhs. This is India’s first clutchless manual gearbox, that is something actually something unique. The Venue iMT is for those who want to experience the manual gearshifting experience but without hurting their left knee.
Depending on the pressure on accelerator and the throttle input, the system will show when to perfectly change the gears. It is a 6-speed manual gearbox with an electro-mechanically actuated clutch. Looks like the working will be different from an AMT gearbox, but we will get to know once we drive it.

The iMT gearbox only comes with the 1.0 Litre T-GDI three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. Also, it is available only on the SX and SX(O) trims and not on the S trim. So, the turbo petrol engine now has three options – iMT, 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed manual. The engine is good for 120 PS and 172 Nm of peak torque.
Also, Hyundai has launched a new Sport trim for the turbo petrol and diesel variants. The iMT gearbox is available with Sport Trim as well as with the regular one. Differences on the Sport Trim include Dual Tone Exterior Colour, Sport Emblem, Red Brake Calipers, Glossy Black Front Grille with Red Insert, Dark Grey Roof Rail and Red Inserts on the wheel arches. Inside the cabin, you get D-Cut steering with Red Stitch, Sporty Metal Pedals, Dark Grey Upholstery and Red Colour Accents.

Lastly, you have a new S+ Trim for the 1.2 Litre petrol engine that is priced at Rs 8.31 Lakhs. Hyundai Venue recently got a new BS6 compliant diesel engine that is a 1.5 Litre unit, producing 100 PS. The prices of Venue start at Rs 6.70 Lakhs up to Rs 11.58 Lakhs (Ex-showroom).
