This very tastefully modified Mahindra Thar comes with some really cool off-road modifications and has won our hearts with its off-white and olive green paint job. The interiors too have been tastefully redone.
The Mahindra Thar is one of the most modified vehicles on Indian roads and almost every owner who ever buys a Thar will surely do at least one modification on the SUV. It is also an extremely popular off-road vehicle and most modifications on the Thar are usually to enhance its off-road appeal and capabilities. In fact, its almost impossible to find a Thar in stock condition in the country. We have featured several modified Mahindra Thar’s over time and here again, we have come across a tastefully modified example and you should definitely have a look at it.
The first thing that immediately strikes you about this Thar is its very attractive dual-tone paint job of off-white and olive green. That’s not a color you usually see on the Thar and we indeed impressed by the color choice. All the modifications on this Thar seem to have been carried out with a purpose and that really gives the SUV a clean look. Up front, it gets heavy duty metal bumpers with integrated fog lamps and there are two more auxiliary lamps mounted on top of it. The fenders get LED DRLs and underneath, there’s an aluminum bash plate to protect the car as well.
Like we said, there have been no unnecessary modifications here and that’s evident from the fact that the owner has chosen to keep the headlamps and the front grille identical to the stock car. The fender however gets limb risers that protect tree limbs and bushes from hitting the windshield of the car. The ORVMs can also be internally adjusted. One of the most popular modifications on Thars are extended wheel arches and after market wheels and tires. Likewise, this modified Thar also gets the same treatment with extended wheel arches but what we really like are the olive-green painted steel wheels. That’s a really cool touch indeed.

This Thar also comes fitted with Maxxis all-terrain tires. Another major modification on this Thar is its hard top roof that even gets an external roll cage. There’s also a roof luggage carrier and a snorkel, further enhancing its rugged appeal. This Thar also comes fitted with a lift kit and it rides slightly higher than the stock car. At the rear, there’s a similar heavy duty metal bumper as the front along with a jerrycan mounted on the tail gate next to the spare wheel.

There has been a decent amount of work on the interiors of this Thar too. The SUV now gets tan colored interiors for the upholstery on the seats and door pads and the rear seats are even electrically adjustable. The interiors of the Thar have always remained a sore point of the SUV but here it seems much better than the stock version. The roof of the car has also been redone from the inside and there is also a 2-din music system with speakers mounted on roof. This Thar really looks like it was built for off-roading and cross country trips. And we are sure it’s going to do something similar. It after all belongs to Mr. Rahul Monga who is record holder for flying around the world in a micro light aircraft.
