You Surely Couldn’t Tell This Resto-Modded Car is a Premier 118 NE Underneath!

This beautiful looking resto-modded car is actually a Premier 118 NE underneath but there’s hardly anything giving away that fact apart from its basic shape. It in fact is a beautiful contrast of a modern design and a classic shape.

Premier Automobiles Limited (PAL) was quite popular brand in India back in the day and they had quite a few models on sale in India. Premier cars along with some cars from Hindustan Motors are really the true classic cars of India. All of us remember the Premier Padmini – a definite icon in the automotive history – very fondly but Premier had another car up their sleeves which most of us do not remember today. And that’s the Premier 118 NE, a car that was based on the Fiat 124.

Here's a beautiful resto-modded example of a Premier 118 NE.

The Premier Padmini was already a favorite among the celebrities of the time but the Premier 118 NE sat a step higher than the Padmini. The car has been out of production for many years now and you’d be lucky if you ever spot one on the roads. There are still some well kept or restored examples of the 118 NE that you’ll find in the country but even they are hard to come by. Here, we have a beautifully resto-modded example of the Premier 118 NE and we can’t help but drool over it. The black custom paint on this car is really doing wonders to its looks.

This car comes with completely redone exteriors with even a body kit.

We however have to admit that there’s nothing about this car that suggest it started life as a Premier 118 NE except for its basic shape. Apart from that, literally everything else on this car has been custom built and we must say that the modifiers have done a stunning job indeed. The face is completely bespoke and has an almost-muscle car like look. The headlamps and the grille sit deep within the face, just like the original car, but more pronounced at that. It comes fitted with a custom grille and after market headlights with projector type lamps. There’s also an LED light bar mounted on the bumper.

The interiors too have been made a lot more upmarket with more equipment too.

The whole car gets a custom body kit which brings in a front splitter and side skirts that extends all the way to the rear wheel arches. There’s also a faux hood scoop. The bespoke wing mirrors also compliment the look of the car very well. The body panels on the side profile of the car and at the rear however look quite similar to the original car. In fact, it brings about a beautiful contrast between the modern face and a classic design. The only modification on the sides have been the addition of a new 15 inch GTR rims shodded with Yokohama tyres and the stock tail lamps at the rear have been swapped with aftermarket clear lens LED units.

This resto-modded Premier 118 NE also comes fitted with a free flow exhaust system from Raj Hingorani, a very well know exhaust maker from Bangalore who is very popular among car modifiers. On the inside, the 118 NE get a K&N air filter and BMW seats. That not only improves the look of the interiors but also makes it more comfortable. Additionally, it also gets aforever sharp’ steering wheel unit which is also power aided. We are unsure if there has been any mechanical changes under the hood, but the entire modification job looks very neat and tastefully executed. Its also good to see such resto-modded examples of classic cars, suggesting a healthy car culture.
