Ford Endeavour Costlier By Rs 1.2 Lakhs; Still Cheaper Than Toyota Fortuner

Ford has finally increased the prices of BS6 Endeavour which is now costlier by a maximum of up to Rs 1.2 Lakhs.

Ford launched the BS6 compliant Endeavour in the month of February 2020. It was launched at an introductory price which was scheduled to be increased in the month of June. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the hike was delayed. Now, Ford has officially hikes the prices of the full grown SUV, effective from 1st August.

The prices of Ford Endeavour now start at Rs 29.99 Lakhs up to Rs 34.45 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The base variant is now costlier by Rs 44,000, while the other two 4X4 variants are now costlier by Rs 1.20 Lakhs. While Ford had confirmed that the price hike will be just up to Rs 70,000, the ongoing pandemic might have forced them to take this decision.

In comparison, it is still cheaper than the Toyota Fortuner, which goes up to Rs 36 Lakhs (ex-showroom). These two are currently the best sellers and obviously, the most popular in full size SUV segment. Other rivals include Mahindra Alturas, Honda CRV and Volkswagen Tiguan All Space.

BS6 compliant Endeavour gets a new 2.0 Litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine that replaces the existing 3.2 Litre and 2.2 Litre units. The new engine is capable of producing 167 PS and 420 Nm of peak torque. The power figures are higher than the 2.2 Litre diesel but a lot lower than the bigger unit. It now comes paired with a 10-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Endeavour comes with a 4X2 and a 4X4 drivetrain configuration, the top-end variants offering latter as standard. For off-roading, the SUV is grilled with features such as four-wheel-drive system, an active transfer case with Torque on-demand, electronic rear differential locking and Four Terrain Modes – Normal, Snow/Mud/Grass, Sand and Rock.

Other premium features onboard include 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, 8-way electric adjustment for driver and passenger seat, panoramic sunroof, semi-auto parallel park assist, hill assist and descent control and traction control. Safety fits such as front and rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, Seven Airbags, Tyre Pressure Monitor, Crash Sensor and more.
