Honda recently launched the BS6 compliant Civic Diesel with the same engine and power figures. For a brief period, the Civic Diesel was discontinued temporarily because of the ongoing pandemic. Now, Honda is offering a heavy discount on the premium sedan for the month of August 2020.

You can now buy the BS6 Honda Civic Diesel with a flat cash discount of Rs 2.5 Lakh. Further, if you have a Honda car already, you will get a loyalty bonus additionally. Lastly, you can also redeem the corporate discount, which will differ for different dealerships. This makes the Civic Diesel a lot more competitively priced.

For the Honda Civic Petrol, you can get an official cash discount of Rs 1 Lakh only. The prices of Civic diesel commence at Rs 20.75 Lakhs for the VX trim and Rs 22.35 Lakhs for the ZX trim. Even with the introduction of the BS6 engine, the prices were hiked only up to Rs 20,000. The petrol variants are priced from Rs 17.93 Lakhs up to Rs 21.23 Lakhs (all prices ex-showroom).

Civic Diesel gets a 1.6 Litre turbocharged unit that produces 120 PS and 300 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed MT as standard. Its 1.8 Litre i-VTEC engine is good for 141 PS and 174 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 7-speed CVT. Civic Petrol also gets paddle shifters as standard and that coupled with the i-VTEC performance, is amazing!

Honda Civic comes with features such as LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, Lane Watch Assist Camera, Electric Sunroof, Auto-Dimming IRVMs, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, Reverse Parking Sensors with a Multi-view camera, heated seats, 60:40 split rear seats and much more.

Now, Civic has only one competitor in the market and that is Hyundai Elantra. Skoda Octavia and Toyota Corolla Altis were discontinued due to the BS6 emission norms in March. Skoda is set to relaunch the new generation Octavia towards the end of this year or early 2021.
