Hyundai launched a new Sport variant on the Venue with the launch of the iMT gearbox and here are all the exterior and interior distinguishing elements that sets it apart from the rest of the range.
Hyundai recently debut a brand new iMT (intelligent manual transmission) on the Venue and along with it, introduced a new ‘Sport’ variant for the sub-compact SUV as well. The iMT gearbox is essentially an automatic gearbox, but one that comes with a traditional manual gear lever. You are left to change gears yourself but you do not have to go through the inconvenience of using a clutch pedal. Hyundai offers the iMT gearbox on the new Sport, SX and SX(O) trims of the Venue. Interestingly, the Sport variant also comes with some distinguishing styling elements both on the inside and outside. Here’s what set’s apart the Hyundai Venue Sport from the rest of the range.
New Upholstery with Red Accents
Hyundai is offering a brand new dark grey fabric upholstery with red contrast stitching on the Venue Sport which looks a little more premium and unique than what’s offered with the standard Venue. Other variants of the Venue get all-black upholstery. Other than that, there are several red accents all over the cabin, including the knobs on the center console and on levers of the AC vents as well.
New Steering Wheel
What is a huge update over other variants of the Venue is the new steering wheel. This new steering wheel comes directly from the Creta. The four-spoke flat bottom steering wheel has a very unique design and it feels quite good to hold. It’s a leather wrapped unit with red contrast stitching to compliment the rest of the cabin. The turbo-petrol variants with the DCT gearbox even get paddle-shifters behind the steering wheel.
Metal Pedal Pads
This is something we usually do not expect in cars of this segment but it really ups the appeal of the Venue in this case. In order to enhance the sporty appeal of the Venue, Hyundai has thrown in metal pads for the brake and accelerator pedals. In fact, for added grip, the metal pads also have rubber grips. It’s a very small design detail but one that we find in much more premium and sporty cars and its definitely great to see it here as well.

Standard Dual-Tone Exterior paint with Red Accents
The Hyundai Venue Sport comes with two new dual-tone paint options – titan grey with phantom black roof and polar while with phantom black roof. Along with this, the Venue Sport also gets several red accents on the outside like on the door sills, on the front and rear wheel arches, on the roof rails and on the grille as well. The grille also gets a dark chrome effect. That makes it just a little bit easier to distinguish the Sport variant from the outside.

‘Sport’ Emblems
The Venue Sport gets a ‘Sport’ badging on the C-Pillar and that’s the most obvious way to tell this apart from the rest of the range. It also exclusively gets red painted brake calipers that further enhances it’s sporty appeal. The Hyundai Venue Sport is essentially just many minor cosmetic jobs in red which all add up to slightly set it apart. The updates are certainly not a game changer but make little difference at least.
