The excitement and anticipation around the upcoming Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has been unending, although the series of spy shots do not seem to have any ending. It has almost become the Mahindra Thar of the motorcycle world. Well, Royal Enfield would have launched the Meteor 350 much earlier but the pandemic disrupted all plans like many other things. Now, a leaked brochure of the Meteor 350 gives us some fresh and very interesting details of the upcoming motorcycle and it also hints that the launch is just around the corner. We expect the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 to be launched in India by mid-September.

But now, lets address the fresh details that have surfaced about the new motorcycle. The leaked brochure reveals that the Meteor 350 will be available in three variants – the base Fireball, the mid-spec Stellar and the top-spec Supernova. We must admit that the nomenclature of these variants go well with the name of the motorcycle. Well, these variants are mainly aesthetic and visual differentiators more than anything else.

Starting with the Fireball variant, the base-spec Meteor 350 will come in a single-tone color finish for the tank in either gloss yellow or red. Meanwhile, the engine, exhaust, most other mechanical components and other body panels as well come finished in black. The wheels also get a body-colored rim tape. Moving on to the mid-spec Stellar variant, it will be available in either metallic red, metallic blue or matte black colours. In the Stellar variant, all the body panels come painted in a single color and it additional also gets a pillion back rest, a 3D logo and chrome finish for the handlebars, fuel injector covers and exhaust.

Lastly, the Supernova variant gets a rather oddball dual-tone colour scheme of blue/black or brown/black. The Supernova variant carries forward the pillion backrest and chrome finish for the handlebars, fuel injector covers and exhaust from the Stellar variant. Additionally, it also gets premium dual-tone alloy wheels, a premium seat cover, chromed out indicators, and a windscreen as well. Some of these accessories can be opted individually for the base and mid-spec variants as well. In our opinion, it is the base Fireball variant that looks the best while the Supernova variant is a bit of an over kill.

The top-spec Supernova variant gets a rather oddball dual-tone colour scheme of blue/black or brown/black.

What will be standard across all the three variants of the Meteor 350 are the turn-by-turn navigation and smartphone connectivity. This is a first for a Royal Enfield motorcycle. These features will be accessible via a small roundel in the instrument cluster which is a color TFT unit. The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is underpinned by the new J-platform which is regarded to be huge improvement over its predecessor. The 350cc engine is also a brand new unit and that too will be huge improvement over the earlier UCE engine and more power and torque will certainly be a welcome. Royal Enfield is also expected to fit a slip-and-assist clutch to the new engine to make for light clutch action.
