Here are the first set of spy shots of the upcoming MG Hector Facelift which was recently spotted in India. The changes will mostly be limited to cosmetic differences.
MG Hector is set to get a facelift very soon, as the manufacturer has already started testing it near its Gujarat plant. The latest spyshots show the changes that we will get on the outside. The giant SUV was launched more than a year ago, in June 2019. It still looks fresh in terms of design and is one of the most popular SUVs in the 15-20 Lakhs budget right now.
Looking at the spy shots, there seem to be just cosmetic upgrades visible onboard. The front grille has been revised while the design of the DRLs and headlamp remains the same. It flaunts new dual-tone alloy wheels which are the same in size. At the back, you can see the black and chrome detailing flanked by tail lamps replace the existing LED strip. Further, there are no changes done onboard.

Reports suggest that MG Hector Facelift could finally get a diesel-automatic combination which is long-awaited. As of now, there is no such word official from MG. That said, the addition of a diesel-auto will definitely help because Hector remains the sole car in its segment to miss out on one. Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500 and Jeep Compass, all three offer diesel-auto combination.
There will be no changes made to the engine and features list. Inside the cabin, we can expect some changes such as new upholstery material or different theme for the dashboard. It will continue with the same 1.5 Litre turbo-petrol and 2.0 Litre turbo-diesel engines as earlier. The petrol engine comes with a mild-hybrid system as an option, producing the same 143 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine is good for 170 PS and 350 Nm.
Recently, MG also launched the Hector Plus which is a 6-seater version of the regular Hector. It gets captain seats on all the three rows which is more spacious than ever. The features and engines remain unchanged, although there are some cosmetic upgrades done. MG is on its way to launch the upcoming Gloster which is almost a 5-metre long SUV expected to be priced in the 40-45 Lakhs range.
