The 2020 Hyundai i20 has been launched in India, with prices starting at Rs 6.71 Lakhs up to Rs 11.18 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). It is now the most feature equipped hatchback in India, competing the likes of Honda Jazz, Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Tata Altroz and Volkswagen Polo. Here, we put it against the likes of 2020 BS6 Honda Jazz.

The base variant of Hyundai i20 comes in cheaper than Jazz, by nearly Rs 30,000 to Rs 70,000. However, the currentlymbase variant of Jazz is technically the earlier mid-spec variant. So if seen, Jazz comes in cheaper than i20 if seen as per the features on both their entry-level variants. The mid-spec variants of both are similarly priced, without any huge difference.

Other is a 1.0 Litre turbo motor that is good for 120 PS and 175 Nm of peak torque. Jazz instead gets a humble 1.2 Litre four-cylinder i-VTEC motor that is good for 90 PS and 110 Nm.

One disadvantage with the Jazz is that its highly efficient 1.5 Litre diesel engine has been discontinued. Hyundai i20 is among the only two cars that offer a diesel engine now in this segment.

The turbo variants get a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed iMT. Jazz on the other hand only gets a 5-speed manual and a CVT.
