Mahindra Bolero is one of the most capable machines out there, due to its reliability and ready-to-go anywhere attitude. Mostly, it is seen as tourist cars only where people are stuffed to the brim and it still climbs the steepest of roads. Here is a small compilation video where you can see the SUV going through a few tests.

First up, is you can see that the Bolero going through deep water wading test. The water level is easily reaching up to the radiator and exhaust, but there’s no problem for the SUV. While there are high chances that if water goes into exhaust, the car might just break down and never work again. That also depends on the placement of exhaust pipe into the combustion chamber.

Second up, it can be seen going through a steep hill climb without any issue. It gets a 1.5 Litre turbo-diesel engine that puts out 75 BHP and 195 Nm of peak torque, paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The power figures seem to be a bit less, but the generous low end torque generation of Bolero is something that makes it a torquey SUV.
Again, you can see the Mahindra Bolero going through the water wading test, this time entering a pit filled with water upto the bonnet level. Then it can be seen going through the Mumbai floods easily where a Jaguar is stranded but this SUV going through very easily. The inside view shows the water crossing the bonnet level again.
Bolero is one of the oldest SUVs from Mahindra and has been in the market for more than a decade. While early it was kept as a proper commercial purposes car, but now, it has gradually started growing as a lifestyle SUV. Many off-roading enthusiasts and SUV lovers are keen to own a Bolero before the manufacturer decides to put a stop to it.

While earlier it came with a 2.5 Litre turbo-diesel engine, which was replaced by the 1.5 Litre unit. The top-end B6 (O) variant gets central locking, manual AC, rear wiper and washer, power steering, keyless entry and a pre-installed music system. Prices start at Rs 8.01 Lakhs going up to Rs 9.01 Lakhs (Ex-showroom).
