BS6 Ready 2021 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross To Launch Soon – Thar Rival?

Ever since the arrival of the BS6 emission norms in India, Isuzu had to remove its lifestyle-offroader from its Indian lineup. Before that, it had gained some reputation among the off-roading community in India. In fact, if someone wanted to buy a lifestyle-offroader, the only two main options that come to mind are either the Mahindra Thar, which had been recently introduced completely brand new from the ground up, or the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, the pickup truck. Being the only one of its kind in our market, it did manage to garner a ton of interest from customers. So it isn’t any surprise that Isuzu would want to bring it back, especially now, that the Thar had created such a huge market for itself and customers are becoming more open to such products. These SUVs are not only utilitarian in nature but also practical and user-friendly, which people can use for regular day-to-day activities as well. The official website of Isuzu has been saying that the D-Max is coming soon but now that time has come, where we might actually see the product in flesh. Here is what to expect from the pickup truck.

2021 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross – Exterior

Being a lifestyle pick-up truck, and one of a kind in India for now, it boasts of unique styling and design elements. The sheer size of it is very imposing and renders a bold road presence. At a massive 5.3m in length and over 3m wheelbase, you will not have a tough time if you’re seated in the backseat. The bigger 18-inch alloys are high-profile tyres that will ensure your riding comfort during those off-road trips, for which the Isuzu V-Cross is built. There are thick chrome inserts on the front grille along with chrome inserts on the fog lamp. All this will see a minor update in the upcoming model as well.

2021 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross – Interior and Features

The list of the interior design elements as wee as the features is also likely to remain the same with a few updates. Features like Digital Touchscreen Infotainment System with smartphone connectivity, Steering-mounted Controls, Digital Instrument Cluster, Electrically Adjustable Driver Seat and much more. On the safety front, the internationally updated version has received a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating but that version will not make it to India. Still, this model will come equipped with Dual Airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, Traction Control, 4×4 drive system and much more.

2021 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross – Expected Engines and Prices

The Isuzu V-Cross might come with a BS6 compliant 1.9-litre diesel engine, making 148hp and 350Nm, mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. This model will feature in the higher-spec trim of the V-Cross. The lower variants might get the same 2.5-litre diesel engine, which produces 134hp and 320Nm with a 6-speed manual gearbox option. Because of being BS6 compliant, these power and torque figures might see a slight decrease. Presumably, every model will come with 4WD as standard. The expected prices might be a bit higher than the last-gen model, i.e., between Rs 17 lakh and Rs 21 lakh, ex-showroom. Being a hardcore off-roader, the only direct rival might well be the Mahindra Thar.
