Mahindra and Mahindra are coming up with some of the most anticipated SUVs in the country including the new-gen Scorpio which has been one of Mahindra’s oldest workhorses in the country, the news of new-gen XUV500 was doing the rounds until Mahindra had to push back the launch due to the semi-conductor shortage and then recently, Mahindra announced the arrival of a new product in the form of XUV700. Essentially, it will replace the XUV500 for now and will be built on an entirely new platform. It will also feature numerous Sci-fi Features, as Mahindra likes to call it along with plenty of modern equipment. Now, the website of the XUV700 has gone live and one can register there to stay updated regarding the developments of the XUV700. Let us see what to expect from the upcoming SUV from Mahindra.

Mahindra XUV700 – Exteriors
There have been a few spy shots already leaked online suggesting an almost similar exterior as the XUV500. But the XUV700 has a completely new platform and therefore the dimensions and features will differ slightly. The new platform will also allow the XUV700 to have off-roading capabilities with a 4×4 drive system. The exteriors have been heavily camouflaged but some highlights can be deduced from the spy images. This includes dual-tone alloy wheels, large overhangs signifying the size of the SUV, chrome beltline running across the lower end of the window line, rear spoiler and top mount stop lamp with a rear wiper and shark fin antenna. The front end is not visible in the spy shots but we expect a bold look as is the case with all the other SUVs from Mahindra’s design house.

Mahindra XUV700 – Expected Interiors and Features
Although not a lot has been revealed about the interiors of the Mahindra XUV700, we expect all the modern elements. Rumours also suggest that the Mahindra XUV700 might feature a Mercedes-Benz inspired free standing connected touchscreen infotainment display and instrument cluster with all the connectivity features including Apple CarPlay and Android along with Bluetooth Connectivity, new dashboard design, high-quality cabin materials, Automatic Dual-Zone Climate Control, Multi-purpose Steering Wheel, Panoramic Sunroof, convenience features for the second and the third-row passengers. The safety aspect will be taken care of as is always the case with Mahindra. Also, there might be ADAS (Advanced Driver Assitance System) features in the upcoming Mahindra XUV700.

Mahindra XUV700 – Expected Engines, Prices and Rivals
The new Mahindra XUV700 might feature both the powertrains options including the 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine with direct injection technology from Mahindra’s very own mStallion range of engines and a 2.2-litre tried and tested diesel engine from Mahindra that we have also seen in various products in the past. There will be a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission options and an all-wheel system can also be incorporated. The new platform supports the incorporation of the 4×4 system which will lend great off-roading capabilities to the XUV700. The prices range might be somewhere between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 22 lakh, ex-showroom. The rivals of the Mahindra XUV700 will include Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector.
