Watch Tata Harrier Owner Review Nexon AMT! – VIDEO

Here is a video showcasing the Tata Nexon AMT review by a Harrier owner. Harrier and Nexon are very popular SUVs in their respective segments. While Harrier is a massive mid-size SUV, the Nexon falls under the category of the compact SUV segment. Just to tell you about the popularity of Nexon, it entered the list of top-10 cars sold in July 2021 for the first time. This is a massive feat for any car to outsell the dominant products from Maruti and Hyundai. These two carmakers have always had control of the top 10 cars every month. The Harrier is also popular and sells large volumes in the segment after Creta and Seltos. Both these SUVs are well on their way to becoming strong forces in their respective segments. Let us take a look at what the Harrier owner has to say about the Nexon AMT.

Harrier Owner’s Review Of Tata Nexon AMT

The Harrier owner has the manual version and starts with driving his SUV. He tells the YouTuber that the steering of the Harrier is hydraulic which is why it is a bit heavy for city use but inspires confidence on highways. The massive dimensions of the SUV cause parking problems for the city use. Thereafter, he moves inside the Nexon AMT. He immediately spots the difference in the steering weight. The steering of the Nexon is considerably lighter than that of the Harrier. The size of the two SUVs could be the reason for it. The driving dynamics are also decent and the compact SUV handles well around corners. The suspension setup is a bit on the firmer side which s great for high-speed and cornering stability but not ideal for ride quality in potholes on the roads.

But the main point of difference between the two SUVs is the transmission. The Nexon that he is driving comes with the AMT gearbox. That means that the gears will shift automatically although the transmission system is similar to the manual unit. To achieve an ideal setting for different driving and roads conditions, the Nexon comes with City, Eco and Sport modes. In the Sport mode, the transmission holds on to the gears for longer to extract the maximum power out of any gear. The responses are sharp and the SUV downshifts quickly if it senses a pressed-down accelerator pedal. However, being an AMT, the gearbox is a bit fidgety, especially in the first and second gear. After that, the gearshifts become comparatively smoother and the convenience aspect is enhanced.

In the Eco mode, as one would imagine, the transmission responses dull down a lot and there is a lag in power delivery. This is done intentionally to aid fuel economy. That is the aim of driving in the Eco mode in the first place. The gearshifts are not sudden and don’t cause discomfort to the passengers. The City mode achieves a perfect balance between the two. There are enough performance and fuel-saving characteristics and people will use it more frequently in comparison to the other two modes. Overall, the review of the Tata Nexon AMT impressed the Harrier owner quite a bit and he suggested going for the Nexon if much of your commute takes place in a city. For highways, however, he would rather be driving a Harrier.
