KTM Duke 200 To Receive An Update In Early 2020 – Report

KTM is ready to update its most popular offering, the Duke 200 with a couple of new upgrades. The updated bike will be launched in early 2020.

Launched back in 2012, the brand new KTM Duke 200 sent the Indian market into a spin. It was an aggressive-looking sporty motorcycle, which was never seen in India by that time. It was launched for Rs 1.18 Lakhs (ex-showroom), back then.

With time, there came come small changes on the Duke and more variants were also being launched. The next big update that it received was the ABS, which was just last year. Other than that, there were some very minor cosmetic upgrades.

Now, reports say that there is a new KTM Duke 200 incoming, which will be launched in the early months of 2020. Most likely, the changes would include some mechanical upgrades and a new set of graphics.

The new model will get a better suspension to offer a more comfortable ride. Also, the seats will be comfier and wider for a better experience. With that, we can also expect the Duke 200 to be the first one to get BS-6 engine.

The naked streetfighter comes with a 199.5cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC engine, that produces 25 BHP and 19 Nm of peak torque. For suspension, it comes with 43mm USD forks at the front and a mono-shock absorber at the back.

There would not be big revisions to the features list, but we can expect LED headlamps replacing the convention lamps. It will continue with its digital speedometer, step-up seats, low-heightened single-piece handlebar and of course, the street styling.

At a current asking price of Rs 1.62 Lakhs (Ex-showroom Delhi), the Duke will see a marginal increase in the price. It goes against the likes of Bajaj Dominar, Suzuki Gixxer 250, Yamaha MT-15 and other bikes in the Rs 1.5 Lakh range.

Recently, at the launch of 790 Duke, KTM has also confirmed that it is exploring the 250-500cc segment for India. KTM is launching the 390 Adventure in India this year and reportedly, it is also planning for the 250 Adventure.
