The new Honda City is expected to hit Indian markets at 2020 Auto Expo
The next-gen Honda City is expected to launch globally in Nov’19 and several camouflaged spy shots of the same have been surfacing on the internet. The 2020 Honda City was spotted in Indian markets too and based on the spy shots we bring a rendered image for the same.
The new Honda City is expected to launch in India at 2020 Auto Expo and will continue to come in 1.5L petrol and diesel engine. It will be BS6 compliant and we can expect an automatic transmission for oil burner too. A mild hybrid technology could come with the petrol engine too.
Now talking about the 2020 Honda City, the rendered image of the same gives us a glimpse of how o upcoming sedan could look like. The overall design language of the car is fresh.

Now, looking at the front fascia, it looks like a fusion of Honda Amaze and Civic. Be it headlamp cluster, front mesh grille with a thick chrome strip, restyled front bumper and among others. It receives LED treatment on the headlights and foglights can be observed and the sharp chin sure reflects the aesthetics of the sedan.
The next-gen City sits on the improved version of the existing platform and following the trend of Honda City’s, every new generation has gotten bigger in dimensions. The body structure of the sedan will be tough to pass the new Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program).
Talking about the rear profile, the rear bumper is changed and so is the sharp taillights. What’s new is the sophisticated split LED taillight treatment inspired by the Audi A3. Due to the sharper lines, the bootlid of the sedan looks wider and sportier for this sedan.

The rendered image only gives us a light on the exteriors of the new-gen sedan. We expect the interiors of the Honda City to come with latest features and technologies and improved design.
Feature-wise it can borrow some inspiration from the Civic and get larger touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It might also receive wireless charging, power-adjustable driver’s seat as convenience features.
Once launched, the sedan will compete with the likes of Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Toyota Yaris. It is expected to see a price increase over the ongoing model. The current City is priced at Rs 10.04 lakh for the base trim and the top model costs around Rs 14.3 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
