Renault is bringing a new 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine sometime next year, which will power the Triber and the upcoming HBC sub-compact SUV.
As Renault has decided to discontinue diesel engines post BS-6 norms, it is going to add more petrol engines in the range. Earlier, we reported that Renault Triber will get a turbo-petrol engine sometime later, has now been confirmed through reports.
Autocar reports that Renaut has actually planned to bring the 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit for the Triber. The exact timeline is not specified but we could see this happening by mid-2020, post introduction of BS-6 norms.
The same engine will also come on Renault’s upcoming HBC sub-compact SUV. It is set to make an appearance at the 2020 Auto Expo, most likely in its production form. The turbo-petrol unit should be capable of producing around 95 BHP. The engine will also get dual variable valve timing and an exhaust manifold partially integrated into the cylinder head.
