Kia Sonet-rivalling Citroen C3 Aircross has been spotted testing yet again. The compact SUV is entirely camouflaged in the latest spy images. The French carmaker aims to achieve high volumes from this product. The first product, C5 Aircross is not a mass-market product and is available to establish the brand name in India. Hence, it sits at the premium end of the market. Still, it has seen a fair few customers materializing Citroen’s plans. Now, the compact SUV segment is not easy to get into. Almost all the major players are already present here. Therefore, it won’t be easy to compete. Citroen needs to make sure that it loads the C3 Aircross with all the modern features and still offer it at a competitive price point. Let us check out the details of the C3 Aircross for now.

Sonet-Rivalling Citroen C3 Aircross – Design
According to the design models surfaced earlier, the exteriors of the C3 will feature the typical Citroen design language, which is also the unique selling point of the brand globally. We expect features like a bold front end with LED headlamps with DRLs, squared-theme all over the exterior including the front bumpers and side body panels. There will be a set of alloy wheels and possibly the roof rails to give it that crossover look. The rear might also feature LED tail lamps, roof spoiler and that square theme on the bumper. The C3 is likely to be more of a crossover than a proper SUV. That is true for its international model as well. The dimensions will be under 4m in length to avail of the tax benefits to keep the costs in check.

Features and Specs
There have been spy videos of the interiors of the Citroen C3 Aircross posted on the internet. Citroen is known for its unique squared-off design theme that continues to the inside of the cabin too. The Digital Instrument Cluster, a free-floating Touchscreen Infotainment Display, 3-Spoke Steering Wheel Layout, Controls on the steering wheel, All-black Interiors are some of the features that have been seen in the walkaround video earlier. At the time of launch though, there might be the option of a different colour scheme for the cabin.

The powertrains options are likely to include a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine making 130 hp of peak power. Citroen has confirmed that there will be no diesel option in its lineup for the compact SUV. The transmission duties are carried by either a 5-speed manual or an automatic gearbox. In order to be competitive, Citroen will have to price the C3 Aircross at par with the competition. As a result, we can expect the prices to range somewhere between Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh, ex-showroom. The other prominent rivals include Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV300.
